This Privacy Policy describes how Unchain ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile application. Unchain is an addiction recovery app designed to help adults overcome pornography addiction and build self-discipline. By using Unchain, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Account information: Email address, display name, and securely hashed password.
Profile preferences: Goal days, reason for using the app, notification preferences, theme, timezone.
User content: Trigger journal entries, check-in notes, custom challenges, mood data, urge log details.
Usage data: Streaks, urge events, power moves, check-ins, XP progress, badges earned.
Device & performance: Device model, OS version, crash logs, diagnostics, Advertising ID.
Purchase information: Transaction ID, subscription status, renewal date (via Apple App Store, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat). We do not receive or store payment details.
We use your information to create and maintain your account, personalize your experience (streak tracking, milestone celebrations, level progression), deliver the urge-control intervention, send reminders when enabled, process subscription purchases, serve ads to free-tier users, analyze usage to improve the app, and comply with legal obligations.

We retain your personal information while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized analytics and purchase records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations.
All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Database access is protected by Row-Level Security policies — your data is accessible only to you. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email deanodiergaardt@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
To delete your account, email deanodiergaardt@gmail.com with the subject "Delete My Account" and include the email address tied to your account. We will complete deletion within 30 days.
Unchain may display banner and interstitial ads to free-tier users via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your Advertising ID and approximate location (derived from IP) to serve relevant ads. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
Unchain is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. By using Unchain, you consent to this transfer. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected regardless of location.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or via email. Continued use of Unchain after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
